Life’s a beach! Xo Fitzy

Summer afternoon, summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.
-Henry James

Just sitting and watching and daydreaming.

Just sitting and watching and daydreaming.

Solo beach time after an afternoon with some other moms, our beach babes group we created a couple of years ago. It’s a casual group of friends and some more friends. On Friday afternoons, we never know who will drop by the little circle of patterned bright beach chairs with umbrellas, hats, beach bags, flip flops, towels. There are perky colors on pretty pedicured toes, shades of posey pink to red balloon red seem to be preferred. Sunglass styles from JackieO, John Lennon and classic Ray Bans worn by Tom Cruise in Risky Business. All moms who like to be real and chat about random topics from good beach books to breast cancer or college kids, iPhones, sneakers, life or absolutely nothing. It is delightful. This was my first time dropping in this summer! We’re back home…I wasn’t sure if I was ready to jump back in to the beach babe circle. I’ve been laying low since last Sunday when we got home….cleaning, donating, packing, writing lists, taking care of business…paying college tuition, buying books, buying tickets for parents weekend…..
My energy is high, my spirits are high and low simultaneously….numb. Today we received our girl’s college address… it’s real. Really.

Summer abundance!

All that matters….well, in August. Sort of. Okay. Not really.

March beach time.

Who’s happier than me at the beach?

AT THE BEACH IN JANUARY

AT THE BEACH IN JANUARY

BEACH AFTERNOON

In January.
Blue sky.
Breath of ocean air.
Walk.
High tide.
Low tide.
Rocks.
Sea gulls.
Wet sand.
Dogs of all sizes.
Wind.
Conversation.
Strangers.
Sea glass.
Boarded up beach cottages.
Other dogs.
Lighthouse in the distance.
Laughter.
Dune Grass blowing.

ABUNDANCE

I always have to remind myself that in life…there is abundance everywhere we look. Like the ocean, we can all have our teaspoon’s filled again and again.
Like waves, there is more to come and plenty for all of us!
